Gareth Kiernan ddi: +64 4 494 6073 Position: Managing Director Gareth manages the forecasting team at Infometrics and oversees the company's subscription services. Within the forecast process, he prepares the financial markets and building and property forecasts, and has previously worked in the international and external markets areas. He also regularly does presentations to clients on the economic outlook relevant to their industry, and has an extensive knowledge of the broader economy from his dealings with clients. Gareth has completed a number of consulting jobs examining the housing and residential construction industries. Gareth graduated with a masters degree in economics from the University of Canterbury in 1998, and joined Infometrics early the following year. He also spent a summer working at the Reserve Bank in 1997/98. |

David Grimmond ddi: +64 4 494 6435 Position: Senior Economist, Director David provides economic consulting services for Infometrics clients, including model development, customised forecasts, and policy analysis. He has provided economic analysis on a wide range of topics for private business, non-profit organisations, central, and local government. He also provides input to the company's forecasting process. David has played a leading role in preparing economic forecasts at the NZIER, the Treasury, and at Infometrics. David graduated from Otago University in 1982 with a BA (Hons) in economics. Along with his experience as an applied economist, he has also had considerable public sector management experience, managing the macroeconomic policy at Treasury, as well as research and evaluation, the future of work, and the labour market information unit at the Department of Labour. David first worked at Infometrics between 1997 and 2000, returning in 2004 after almost four years at the Department of Labour. |

Adolf Stroombergen ddi: +64 4 494 6078 Position: Chief Economist, Director Adolf has been responsible for managing Infometrics consulting services since 1997. Before that he was a partner in Business and Economic Research Ltd. Adolf has a PhD in economics and specialises in mathematical economics, econometrics and economic modelling. His work has included general equilibrium analyses of changes in import protection, road funding, genetic modification and carbon charges; econometric estimation of forecasting models and empirical relationships in the areas of corporate credit risk and organisational structure; and the development of microsimulation models of savings and the tertiary student loan scheme. Adolf has also worked on a range of economic impact studies dealing with topics such as foreign students, APEC conferences, and exports. He is currently involved with the development of a system dynamics model for analysing regional development. |

Andrew Gawith ddi: +64 4 494 6070 Position: Senior Economist, Director Andrew is the former managing director of Infometrics. He remains a director and continues to play an important, but part-time, role at Infometrics. He is involved with the forecast process and occasionally presents client and conference seminars, and from time to time assists with consulting projects. The majority of Andrew’s time is dedicated to investment and management side of Gareth Morgan Investments, and Gareth Morgan KiwiSaver.
Andrew was a founding director of Infometrics and spent 25 years working full-time on the economic forecasts, client presentations, and consulting projects. Before establishing Infometrics with Gareth Morgan in 1984 he spent four years in London working for the National Farmers Union, followed by a brief stint with Business and Economic Research Ltd in Wellington. |

Gareth Morgan ddi: +64 4 494 6071 Position: Director Gareth is the principal of personal portfolio investment company Gareth Morgan Investments (www.garethmorgan.com), and is a director of Infometrics. His past directorships include Property For Industry Ltd (industrial property owner), the Advisory Board of Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ), the Board of national law firm Phillips Fox, Greens Industries Ltd (tapware manufacturer), Trade Me Ltd (internet auction house), and publicly listed company Direct Capital Partners Ltd. Gareth is well-known for his provocative press columns and presentations, and he is a sought-after conference speaker. Gareth graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a PhD in 1980 before joining the Reserve Bank of New Zealand to develop their macro-economic forecasting model. He founded Infometrics with Andrew Gawith in 1983. |

Andrew Whiteford ddi: +64 4 494 6075 Position: Senior Economist Andrew joined Infometrics in 2007. He manages the company's regional service and offers consulting services in the area of labour market analysis. He has many years of experience in labour economics having established the Job Vacancy Monitoring Programme for the Department of Labour and being involved in occupational forecasting for the Human Sciences Research Council in South Africa. Andrew also worked for the Southern Africa office of the international economics consultancy Global Insight, where he developed a regional service and monitored economic developments in Southern and East Africa. He has a masters degree in Economics from the University of Natal. |

John Carran ddi: +64 4 473 2192 Position:Senior Economist John provides economic consulting services for Infometrics clients including regional, industry and market outlooks, and policy analysis. John returned to Infometrics in 2009 after 12 years working at the Treasury, with the last seven years as a manager of economic policy and tax forecasting teams. He first worked at Infometrics between 1992 and 1996 when he was responsible for coordinating the firm’s economic forecasts and preparing financial market and building industry reports for clients. John graduated from Victoria University in 1988 with a BCA (Hons) in economics. He has expertise in macroeconomics, financial economics, forecasting and public policy. |

Matthew Nolan ddi: +64 4 496 5290 Position: Economist Matt is a member of the forecasting team at Infometrics. In the forecasting process, he focuses primarily on the general outlook for the household and business sectors. He is also responsible for Infometrics' retail forecasts. Matt joined Infometrics in early 2007, having graduated with a BCA (Hons) in economics from Victoria University of Wellington the previous year. He is currently completing his MCA at Victoria University. Outside of work, Matt plays social hockey, participates in an economics reading group, and supports Liverpool Football Club. |

Nigel Pinkerton ddi: +64 4 494 6072 Position: Economist Nigel joined Infometrics in May 2008 after a short stint analysing housing data for Statistics New Zealand. He graduated the previous year with a Bachelor of Management Studies (Honours) in economics from Waikato University. Nigel is involved in preparing Infometrics’ regular forecasts and assists the consulting team as the need arises. His core responsibilities revolve around the transport sector, fiscal policy, and the international economy. Nigel’s passion for economics developed out of a desire to understand the poverty and prosperity he had witnessed when travelling around the world during his teenage years. He is a keen gardener and enjoys participating in outdoor pursuits such as mountain biking, kayaking, and paintballing. |

Lynne Hemsley ddi: +64 4 473 0630 Position: Office Manager Lynne joined Infometrics in 2007 and works part-time Monday to Thursday in a reception and support role. She is responsible for the management of our subscription and marketing database along with generating monthly invoices, accounts payable, travel arrangements, and general office duties. Lynne has more than 20 years of office management experience. |

Donna Clifford ddi: +64 4 494 6430 Position: Accounts Manager Donna joined Infometrics in 2001 as our office manager and became our accounts manager in 2003. She is responsible for accounts payable and receivable, and works with Sherwin Chan & Walshe (our accountants) to produce our quarterly and annual accounts. Donna works part-time, either at our office or from home. |

Michael Bordignon ddi: +64 4 494 6076 Position: IT Manager Mike joined Infometrics late in 1999 initially as a website designer, subsequently moving onto managing IT for the whole business. He is now responsible for keeping our servers and websites up and running, ensuring our computers are operating smoothly, and liaising with suppliers. |

Daniel McKissack Position: Data Analyst Daniel is currently studying at Victoria University for a BCA in economics, having enjoyed economics at high school and decided to continue studying it at a tertiary level. He ensures our databases are up to date and maintains a range of graphical indicators on our web site. Daniel's interests include music (particularly from the 60s and 70s), and he is a keen cricket player. |
