Infometrics Regional Wellbeing Report

Release date: 11 June 2019

The current Labour-led administration is broadening the government’s policy focus beyond the standard fiscal and economic indicators to incorporate wellbeing. This change explicitly recognises that New Zealanders’ quality of life cannot be captured in a single measure such as GDP per capita.

Regional Wellbeing: A broader view of community outcomes around New Zealand marks the first attempt to comprehensively report on wellbeing at a local level around New Zealand. It covers 30 indicators and draws from Infometrics’ online Regional Wellbeing Framework.
